Over the years of capturing the beauty of our clients, we came to realize that a professionally done make up and hair styling are some of the key elements of a successful photoshoot. We are all naturally beautiful, just the way we wake up in the morning, but a boudoir photoshoot requires a very specific type of make-up due to the way the camera reacts to light and shadows. A regular day-to-day make up will simply not work, as our eye sees the make-up differently than the camera does. Even the very popular today “natural” make up look requires a touch of a professional make up artist and about an hour of application to achieve correctly. That is why we have only the top experts from the wedding and fashion make up industries in our team, who have the skills and artistic vision to make our clients look their very best on the day of the photoshoot and create make-up and hair styles perfect for our photoshoots.
And that is why we include professional make-up in all of our packages. Hair styling is also highly recommended, and is either included, or is available as an add-on option for some packages.
We’ve narrowed it down to 5 main reasons to use the services of our professional beauty experts for your boudoir photoshoot:
1. Be stress free on the day of your photoshoot!
Best way to avoid stress? Let the professional do what they do best. Your make up will be done in the studio prior to your photoshoot by one of our team’s skilled make-up professionals, who will work with you to create that flawless look perfect for a boudoir photoshoot. All you have to do is arrive at the scheduled time and be ready to get pampered. Our make up artists use top of the line make up and hair styling products (eye lashes, hair products, etc. will all be provided), so there is no need for you to bring anything else (except hair extensions, which you can bring to the studio and our hair stylist will style them for you; or any special products that you would want our make up artists to use). Please inform us about any
skin products sensitivities ahead of your photoshoot.
2. Camera ready make-up is different than typical make-up.
The type of make up needed for a boudoir photoshoot is different from an everyday make up or from an evening style make-up. The closest description will probably be something in between, but with a more enhanced contouring and special products to make sure your make-up stays in place by the end of the photoshoot. As you will have a multiple outfits to change into during the photoshoot, our make-up experts will find a style and colour palette that will not only enhance and compliment your facial features, but will match your skin tone as well as the colours of your outfits. While some women know a make-up artist they trust and work with regularly, we will not be able to provide direction during their make-up application and therefore will not be able to guarantee the end results, as opposed to our team’s MUA’s, which we know very well and trust to create exactly what we need.
3. Learn more about professional make-up techniques!
It is not every day that you get a chance to work with a beauty industry professional, so this is an experience on it’s own. This is also a great opportunity to learn something new about your skin, facial features and hair care products that work best for you, ask questions and get answers from a skilled professional. Our make up artists have an in-depth knowledge of current trends, various beauty products and techniques to make you look your best on a daily basis and are happy to share these secrets with you!
4. Try something new!
Ever wanted to try a different make-up style, go for a bolder lip or wander what a perfectly done smokey-eye would look like on you? Our make-up artists will be happy to make that happen in a professional way, to combine just the right colours that work with your individual facial features and skin tones. The best part – you can customize your look, as we are completely open to your ideas and want to create the make-up that you will love and will be happy with (and if we feel that intense 80′s eye-shadow look will not work with your eye shape, we will be completely honest about that too!).
5. The results are guaranteed.
Unless you are a professional make-up artist or a hair stylist yourself, there is a good chance you don’t have as much knowledge as our experts do. Sorry, but it is true! Our beauty experts live and breath make-up and hair styles and grow their knowledge on a daily basis working in a fashion and wedding industries, doing make up on myriad of skin tones, different faces and hair types. They will know which look would suit you best, while also work to create the make up and hair style that matches your style and that you will love!
