The Cure “A forest”

Come closer and see
see into the trees
find the girl
while you can
Come closer and see
see into the dark
just follow your eyes

I hear her voice
calling my name
the sound is deep
in the dark
I hear her voice
and start to run
into the trees

Suddenly I stop
but i know it’s too late
I’m lost in a forest
all alone
The girl was never there
it’s always the same
I’m running towards nothing
again and again and again

My first trip to the deep forests of Ontario led me to Temagami – five-hour drive north of Toronto.

Temagami is truly a place of mystical magic. It is the reality that fuels the popular perception of Canada’s great Northland: Old growth pine forests. Smooth blue waters. Bountiful fish and wildlife… Pronounced “Te-MAWG-a-mee” (the word is Ojibway for “deep water by the shore”). This place has lifted the spirits and captured the imagination of generations of indigenous peoples and for traders and trappers and naturalists and painters and poets and photographers and film-makers and tourists.

I want to say many thanks to my good friends Katerine and Anastasia!! You did a great job! Girls you are gorgeous!!! It was very easy and fun to work with you.

Even I couldn’t resist the temptation to be a part of it.  Anastasia made some shoots of me, but you can hardly recognize me :)  At the end of the shoot rain stopped and I took some funny pics in the sun lights.  Some working moment here as well.

Girls just want to have fun! And what do we need to accomplish that?
Two stunning girlfriends – check
Brilliant dresses and accessories – check
Rooftop of the downtown building – check
Moody weather – check
A bottle of wine – check
The idea of shooting Anastasia and Katerina looked very tempting to me. They are so different and each girl has a strong character and appeal. It was really fascinating watch them work together and separately. We all enjoyed the photo shoot and had lots of fun!

My dear friends Andre and Maria got married this spring. They had two ceremonies – one in Jamaica and another one in a Russian Orthodox Church in Toronto. I was honored to be a guest at both of these events. A photo shoot of the weddings was my gift to them. It was a real pleasure to work with this beautiful couple. They were so into each other, even my camera could feel their love! I wish Andre and Maria a long happy life together and lots of curly-haired children.

Below is the second ceremony that took place in Toronto. The Jamaican wedding will be posted here soon.

As you can notice, I didn’t take a lot of pictures of the couple at this second wedding. I allowed myself to concentrate on the surroundings more than on the bride and the groom. They were covered by the second hired photographer, who was doing a great job. I was fascinated by the details that grabbed my attention – sometimes they can reflect brighter aspects of the moment than standard images.

I really hope that the newlyweds are happy with my work.
