PREPARATION GUIDE

As your photo session approaches, there are a few details to consider and prepare ahead. Below, you will find the most relevant guidelines to help you prepare for the day and ensure that everything goes smoothly!

  • Please feel free to do your routine face and body care procedures ahead of your photo session.
  • Make sure to watch your sun exposure a couple of weeks prior to the session in order to avoid tan lines.
  • If looking to attain a tanned look, a professional spray tanning session may be the best option to consider ahead of your photoshoot.
  • We recommend to abstain from any procedures that are outside your usual routine/experience a couple of weeks before your shoot – unexpected results may occur and hinder your photography experience.
  • Please make sure to arrive in comfortable clothes that don’t leave any marks on your skin (i.e. tight sleeves, collars, etc.).
  • Make sure to arrive with no make-up and your hair clean and dry, ready to be stylized (we do not currently provide wash and blow-outs).
  • We recommend to avoid any moisturizers on the day of the session unless absolutely necessary (if skin is flaky and dry). Make sure to avoid any heavy, oily products for your skin as they can appear poorly in photographs.
  • Avoid any products that contain shine, glitter, pigment or self tanning compounds on the day of the session. Natural and clean skin looks absolute best in photographs.
  • Please do not hesitate to have a full and nutritious breakfast on the day of your photo session to ensure a good energy level for your shoot.
  • Feel free to bring your favorite snacks and water to the photo session – we provide some snacks and water at the studio but, if you have any special dietary needs, it is best to come prepared!
  • Please feel free to bring a few extra outfits, even if they make for more than the number of looks within your photography package – this allows for more creative freedom and improvisation.
  • Our photographer will help you select the final looks based on your goals, inspiration, and style.
  • A good rule of thumb for portrait photography is to bring a few classic, well fitting outfits in addition to any of the more creative looks. You can never go wrong with elegant white/black looks or neutral styles.
  • Once we start styling the final outfits at the studio, you will also have access to a variety of shoes and accessories to help elevate any chosen look.
  • For extra outfit inspiration, take a look at some of our past PORTRAIT sessions and stories.
  • We highly recommend to search our website, BLOG, Pinterest boards, and web for images that reflect your goals and vision for your photo session.
  • Your mood board will give you more ideas for outfits and will help us better understand your vision for the final photos.
  • Please feel free to share your Pinterest mood board with us and/or send your inspirational photos via email.
