One bright island in the Caribbean Sea. When I think Jamaica I think colors… vivid colors… Hot yellow sun, green luscious hills, dreamlike turquoise water, white powdery sand, pink tropical flowers.
The most popular phrase here is “No problem, mon”… This is local attitude to everything, the style of live. Given that the population is poor here in general, it is still “No problem”.
Sometimes though the poverty can be really annoying – the locals will try to squeeze every cent out of a tourist.
Occasionally I felt unsafe and stalked, but still managed to wander around the neighborhood with my camera – the curiosity has won over the fear. The results of my heroic behavior.

….At daybreak, when the storm was over, not a trace of the ship was in view. The sun rose out of the waters, red and bright, and its beams seemed to bring the glow of life back to the cheeks of the Prince, but his eyes remained closed. The mermaid kissed his high and shapely forehead. As she stroked his wet hair in place, it seemed to her that he looked like that marble statue in her little garden. She kissed him again and hoped that he would live…

The Cure “A forest”

Come closer and see
see into the trees
find the girl
while you can
Come closer and see
see into the dark
just follow your eyes

I hear her voice
calling my name
the sound is deep
in the dark
I hear her voice
and start to run
into the trees

Suddenly I stop
but i know it’s too late
I’m lost in a forest
all alone
The girl was never there
it’s always the same
I’m running towards nothing
again and again and again

I want to say many thanks to my good friends Katerine and Anastasia!! You did a great job! Girls you are gorgeous!!! It was very easy and fun to work with you.

Even I couldn’t resist the temptation to be a part of it.  Anastasia made some shoots of me, but you can hardly recognize me :)  At the end of the shoot rain stopped and I took some funny pics in the sun lights.  Some working moment here as well.

My dear friends Andre and Maria got married this spring. They had two ceremonies – one in Jamaica and another one in a Russian Orthodox Church in Toronto. I was honored to be a guest at both of these events. A photo shoot of the weddings was my gift to them. It was a real pleasure to work with this beautiful couple. They were so into each other, even my camera could feel their love! I wish Andre and Maria a long happy life together and lots of curly-haired children.

Below is the second ceremony that took place in Toronto. The Jamaican wedding will be posted here soon.

As you can notice, I didn’t take a lot of pictures of the couple at this second wedding. I allowed myself to concentrate on the surroundings more than on the bride and the groom. They were covered by the second hired photographer, who was doing a great job. I was fascinated by the details that grabbed my attention – sometimes they can reflect brighter aspects of the moment than standard images.

I really hope that the newlyweds are happy with my work.
