As part of our recurring series of interviews, The Power of Her, featuring remarkable women, we are proud to present to you an interview with Valeria Lipovetsky, a mother, a model, a beauty blogger and an inspiration to many young women today.
I stopped putting so much stress on myself to be everything for everyone at all times and that made my life much happier.
Although I loved and still love modelling I always wanted to have more influence and a voice. I think at some point I decided I’m over this “waiting to get picked” type of approach and more about creating my own opportunities.
Social media gives us the stage to do exactly that. You build and talk and film what you want and how you want, I love that.
I was always interested in beauty and decided to bring my years of experience in the fashion and beauty industry to every girl’s mobile device.
Sharing is caring.
PLEASE TELL US ABOUT YOUR PAST & CURRENT PROJECTS AND WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO CONTINUE ON THIS PATH.
Currently I keep investing my time and effort into building my social media, connecting with people and talking about things that matter (and some recommendations for amazing lipsticks too!).
I started diving into the beauty world more and more and this time into the internal aspect and not so much the exterior. I learned that once I took a chance and started talking about things that I’m passionate about like self love, empowerment, self esteem etc., I found my purpose.
Today Im building my brand online thinking about how can I influence these young women to embrace themselves and be happy – it’s not about posting selfies and getting validation from people anymore. This is my modern way of bringing real issues to the table but in a light way. I have so many ideas and opportunities that I can’t wait to bring to life, but in baby steps.
I still do modelling as well so its nice to have a little variety.
WHAT DOES YOUR TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE AND AND HOW DO YOU JUGGLE YOUR BUSY WORK SCHEDULE AROUND BEING A FULL TIME MOM OF TWO ADORABLE BOYS?
I don’t really have a typical schedule because it depends on my to-do lists that day. Sometimes I have modelling jobs, so after dropping my boys at daycare I go to the studio and shoot for 8-10 hours, pikc them up, feed them, zombie play with them and put them to sleep. The days when I don’t model, I drop them off, hopefully get to the gym, then come home and start filming/editing/responding to emails and fan mail, etc.
It’s crazy and time flies by WAY too fast, but I try to take it day by day. I’m aware how lucky and blessed I am to be able to do the things I’m passionate about and to have a family.
Sometimes it’s a shit show, but thats ok, I don’t strive to be perfect. I stopped putting so much stress on myself to be everything for everyone at all times and that made my life much happier.
WHAT IS NEXT FOR YOU CREATIVELY AND PROFESSIONALLY, WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR THE FUTURE?
That’s a tough one. All I can say is I have the end goal in my mind and I’m working everyday to get there. I am at a point in my life where I finally feel that I can do anything I set my mind to and I am extremely comfortable and happy with myself – which makes life so much more exciting. So I think I’m on a quest to spread that energy with every person I can – thats the plan!
WHAT DID YOU THINK ABOUT THE PHOTOSHOOT IN OUR STIDO WITH DARIA PEREV AND WAS IT SPECIAL FOR YOU?
The photoshoot was wonderful, easy and natural. I loved the creativity the team had and the space just felt so warm and welcoming! Cant wait to come back soon.

As artists and photographers, we are constantly evolving creatively and enhancing our photography style, searching for and expanding our studio prop collection and finding new combinations to reflect our vision for the most beautiful boudoir photography. The most romantic day of the year, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and it inspired us to design a new dreamy set-up in our photo studio. It has everything we associate Valentine’s Day with – romance, softness, sensuality and beauty. We’ve filled our unique clawfoot tub with tulle to create a feeling of a bath foam, rose petals to complete the look and a single white towel to prove that less is more – that a single accessory can be versatile enough to photograph an entire story. Our enchanting muse, Miss A, felt harmonious with the new set-up and looked absolutely stunning. It doesn’t matter whether you are single or met a great partner, Valentine’s Day is all about celebrating love, be it love for someone or love for yourself, and we are happy that our new set-up reflects that as well. Enjoy the results!

As part of our recurring series of interviews, The Power of Her, featuring remarkable women, we are proud to present to you an interview with Maria Fondler-Grossbaum, an artist and owner of Abyssimo Studio.
Coming from an artistic background, Maria has been painting for as long as she remembers herself. A successful painter and graphic artist, she found Abyssimo Studio last year, when she turned 42 and realized that she wanted to teach and pass on the knowledge of a special artistic technique she developed. Her project was met with instant success, but shortly after, Maria has discovered a lump and was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. The nightmare that followed, months of intense chemo have depleted her of energy and health, but creativity flowed and during short breaks between chemo sessions she kept on creating, teaching and keeping Abyssimо studio going. Maria is one of the most upbeat, positive and optimistic human beings we’ve ever met. An artistic and rebellious soul, she inspired us with her courage and power to continue her craft despite all odds. Maria’s current motto? “Fuck Cancer!”.
PLEASE TELL US ABOUT YOUR ART AND A UNIQUE STYLE OF PAINTING
I have an academic background and I love classical ways in art, although I never saw myself following this direction. I always wanted to go beyond rules and borders and create something between painting and sculpting, something like a sculpted wall art or sculpted painting with a rich texture. Also, in my creations I like incorporating various elements and materials that attract light and intensify colours and texture. For example, I like using pieces of glass, rhinestones, natural amethysts and quartz and other decorative elements.
I truly hope that my style is unique. What can I say about my art? It is simple. Art and creativity is just another approach to becoming happier. Since childhood I’ve noticed that colours, forms and shapes hypnotized me and when I create, the quality of my life gets richer and more interesting and, as a result, I’m happier. I don’t know exactly how it happens and I am not the only one who experiences it – many other people testify that creativity in any form makes them happier. I think it happens because at the moment of creating something it is necessary to focus on yourself in order to understand what exactly you want to express. This element of self-knowledge is essential and very important in art process because when you understand yourself you become self-sufficient and don’t depend on circumstances anymore. You are a source of joy and that is this sacred self-fulfilment. Here is my divine formula of happiness:
self-understanding + self-expression = self-sufficiency = happiness! And no rules or limits, of course!
WHAT ARE YOUR SOURCES OF INSPIRATION?
Nature, Nature and Nature. My studio is filled with interesting natural objects. Porcupine quills, fossils, stones, feathers, wood and shells are incorporated into art pieces, enriching the visual and intellectual experience.
Another great source of inspiration is my students. Some time ago I opened an online school because many people who wanted to learn from me live far away and, luckily, with internet I now have access to anyone in the world! Teaching has given me a sense of purpose and an experience of joy and fulfillment.
I believe we all have innate gifts and talents that, when unlocked, can truly impact the quality of life for others… and there’s nothing more rewarding or fulfilling than that.
BATTLING CANCER IS A LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE. HOW DID IT AFFECT YOU AND YOUR ART?
True. When I discovered that I’m diagnosed with breast cancer I was shocked. The only thing that really helped me to stay positive and emotionally balanced is creating. I also have a great support from my family, friends and my students, I’m very lucky this way! Thank you guys!
I didn’t find that my art style significantly changed since I’m having my cancer treatments, but I think it became more dramatic in colours. I also really enjoy experimenting with new materials now. What really changed though after discovering that I have cancer, is a desire to be more connected to my students. I want to create more online courses for them and share everything that I know.
WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO TELL PEOPLE GOING THROUGH A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE?
Stick to what you like to do the most and stay productive. Work is the best therapy. Also surround yourself with people you love.
HOW DID YOU LIKE WORKING WITH Daria @ Kissed by Light studio?
Ohhh I did enjoy it a lot. Daria is an amazing friend with a talent. She is my inspiration and support. I gave her a total creative freedom knowing that she knows what she is doing. Et Voila, look how beautiful she made me!
I believe that a true photographer needs to be a little bit of a psychologist and must understand people’s nature. Daria is very gifted that way! She is a true photographer!
Our darling Maria, thank you for being our muse. Your inner power and creativity have inspired us. We wish you all the strength in the world to go through the next steps and have a fast recovery.
Maria believes that anyone can learn art and become an artists. Many of her classes are available here: Abyssimo School.

I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become.
We were honoured to photograph Carmel in our photo studio, a beautiful young woman and a cancer survivor. Here is her touching story:
“I’m Carmel and one year ago I was diagnosed with a rare form of sarcoma cancer on my scalp. Unfortunately this meant that my scalp needed to be removed in order to remove the cancer. The amazing surgeons at Princess Margaret were able to rebuild my scalp using two muscles from my back and a skin graft from my leg. However, this also means that I have permanent hair loss and lots of scars.
Every year I set a list of goals for myself, and one of those goals for 2016 was to get a photography shoot – to show that I’m proud of my scars and to celebrate how far I have come. It’s been a really difficult road, but I’m back on track and these photos represent both sides of me – owning my scars and my new image, while also celebrating the glamour and fun of a wig!”
Dear Carmel, thank you for being our beautiful muse!
