As photographers and artists we often look around ourselves in search of beauty and elegance. This time we found it where we spend most of our days – at our workplace, right in our beautiful photography studio. We are very proud to share with you the results of an artistic boudoir photoshoot with Kissed by Light Photo studio’s founder, gorgeous Lora Vertue. She is a powerful creative force behind our studio’s vision, philosophy and style, and to have her finally in front of the camera was both a professional challenge and honour. Being a modern woman, Lora was no stranger to personal body image issues that affect many women in our society. Giving birth to three adorable children was a rewarding experience for her, but it did cause her to approach her body more self-consciously. Harsh diets, vigorous exercise and weight issues have followed, her confidence dropped, but she found her peace and balance in a regular Yoga practice, heathy lifestyle and vegetarian diet. As a way to celebrate this milestone in her life, we did what we do best – an artistic boudoir photoshoot. This time however, Lora was the one in front of the camera. Dressed in exclusive outfits created by our stylist, Ameri, Lora brought elements of Yoga and contemporary dance into the photoshoot, creating a very unique and artistic look to express her emotional world. This photoshoot, just like many other boudoir photo sessions we did in our photo studio, helped our model to boost her confidence, to celebrate her womanhood, to appreciate and accept her body here and now. Sometimes all we need to be happy is a visual reminder of how beautiful we really are, inside and out.

You don’t have to be a dancer to look good in a tutu! We find this accessory incredibly feminine and sensual. Enjoy this creative photosession inspired by the Black Swan story we did in our photo studio with a beautiful muse!

There are days in our photo studio when we point our cameras on those we work with and the results are always exciting! With amazing creative input from everyone involved in this photoshoot, it took us less than two hours to create these fairytale photoseries!

We had a fantastic opportunity to work with talented Bita Bazgosha, a professional hair stylist and make-up artist and the owner of Prominent Hair, to photograph this editorial for Canadian Wedding Industry Award competition. We were very happy to learn that Bita won 1st place this year in two categories: Best Overall Hair Stylist and Best Bridal Hair Styling. We wish her all the best in her creative and professional endeavours!

We had a unique and fantastic opportunity this Winter to work with a wonderfully creative client in our photo studio and to realize her long held dream of re-enacting historical fashion periods. Miss P was always interested in the history of fashion, especially the early 20th century trends. Eventually, this interest turned into a dream of putting together historically accurate outfits characteristic to the early decades of the past century for a personal fashion photoshoot.

The importance of fashion throughout history had always held a special interest and importance in our society. For Miss P these fashions were not simply the outfits women of the past used to put on in the morning. Each trend contains a statement, a special code that defines the period, it’s politics, historical events and women’s status in the society.

We are very happy that Miss P chose our photo studio to plan and realize this unique photoshoot and make her dream come true!

Here we’ve put together the main looks we photographed in the studio with Miss P. From the early conservative 1910’s to the more liberating “The Great Gatsby”‘s 1920’s; from post war 40’s and 50’s to Audrey Hepburn’s classy 60’s; the looks to which the fashions of today still turn for inspiration.

Thank you Miss P for giving us this unique opportunity to push our creative boundaries and for the unlimited source of inspiration!

Enjoy our selection!
