Sometimes one colour can determine the mood of the entire photoshoot. According to colour psychology, red is energizing, giving a boost of confidence to those who need it. Red is the colour of extremes, energy, desire, passion and action, representing power and courage. Throughout history and in modern days, red is associated with seduction, sexuality and is the official colour used to express love (especially on St Valentine’s Day). During our photo session with breathtaking Miss C in our studio, we were inspired by her one piece lingerie in bright red colour. It worked beautifully with set-ups we created for the photoshoot and accentuated our muse’s feminine curves. Thank you for being our muse, Miss C!
Existing as long as the art of photography and peaking in popularity in mid 20th century, pin-up photography style hasn’t really gone out of fashion ever since. It is no wonder why – pin-up style was all about accentuating healthy female beauty and curves. Pin-up is sexy, playful and most importantly, fun! Pin-up theme elements have always been used in boudoir photography and we’ve been waiting for an opportunity to experiment and explore this flirty and feminine style. Finally, we are thrilled to share the results of a recent creative collaboration with our Pin-up themed Photoshoot contest winner, gorgeous Maddie. Being a talented burlesque dancer, Maddie was perfect for this photoshoot and took our session to another level! All fabulous lingerie pieces for this session were generously provided by the mega-talented lingerie designer, With Love Lingerie. Thank you for being our pin-up muse, Maddie!
There is a princess inside all of us. Our beautiful returning muse, Miss A, approached our studio last year with an idea to create a fairytale photoshoot (Nymph Photoshoot) and this year she was looking to be photographed in a different setting with an edgier mood to express her individuality. She brought a few unique pieces to the session for us to experiment with, including a silver beads encrusted white sari shawl and One Thousand and One Nights’ inspired jewellery and a headpiece, along with delicate lingerie pieces. Miss A’s tattoos added an edgy feel to the series, with a mix of boudoir, fashion and glamour photography. Enjoy our selection!
We wanted to share a beautiful review written by our muse, Miss M, following her boudoir photoshoot in our studio:
Working with KBL is such a wonderful, fun, and rewarding experience. The team communicates so well and so quickly – we set everything up super fast! The studio is absolutely stunning!!! Light pours into the room and floods the white space with a plethora of dreamy soft-box lighting. Daria is an angel to work with – she recommended a few poses and directed the shoot very well. I felt comfortable and at ease the whole time. Jennifer’s makeup was great – it will be heavier than you are used to, but that is because it shows up way less in the actual photos. I was a bit nervous about the finished product, as it can be difficult to like photos of yourself, but I was speechless when I saw the shots. Daria has a wonderful eye for angles and highlighting your best features. She captured some amazing moments. The editing was delicate and tasteful. No excessive airbrushing or over contrast, just enhancement of the beautiful soft lighting and your best features. I was so thrilled with the final product and can’t wait for another opportunity to work with KBL again.
Love is the most powerful force on Earth. Love is affection, beauty, honesty, joy and warmth, both physical and spiritual. Our inspiration came from love and Valentine’s Day when photographing this sensual set-up with gorgeous Miss A. Happy Valentines’s Day from all of us at Kissed by Light studio – may this day (and each day) be filled with beauty, love and romance! xx
